The story behind the world's simplest time tool
Chronos was created out of a simple frustration: existing world clock tools were either cluttered with ads, slow to load, or too complicated to use. We believed that something as fundamental as checking the time in another city should be instant, beautiful, and free no sign-ups, no subscriptions, no distractions.
Today, Chronos offers a complete suite of time tools designed for remote workers, travelers, developers, students, and anyone who needs to stay in sync with the world.
The idea for Chronos came from years of working on distributed teams spread across multiple continents. Every day involved the same mental gymnastics: "What time is it in London right now? Is the New York office open? When should I schedule this call for someone in Tokyo?"
Existing tools were either outdated in their design, loaded with intrusive advertising, or required downloading an app just to check a time zone. We wanted something that felt as fast and natural as glancing at a clock on the wall just one that showed every wall in the world simultaneously.
We built Chronos as a passion project with a clear philosophy: time is something everyone needs to check, and that experience should be simple, fast, and pleasant. No paywalls. No accounts. No unnecessary complexity. Just the time, wherever you need it.
Chronos is more than just a world clock. It's a complete time management toolkit built into a single, fast-loading web page. Here's what you get:
Instant time in 180+ cities worldwide, searchable in seconds.
Millisecond precision with lap tracking for any timed activity.
Set any duration or count down to a specific future date and time.
Instantly convert any time between two time zones no math required.
Convert Unix timestamps to human-readable dates and back.
Interactive calendar with moon phase, week number, and year progress.
Everything we build at Chronos is guided by three core principles:
Chronos loads instantly. No heavy frameworks, no unnecessary scripts. Time is too important to waste waiting for a page to load.
We respect your privacy and do not require an account. Core time calculations run in your browser; optional analytics or advertising technologies are disclosed in our Privacy Policy and should be controlled by the required consent flow where applicable.
Good design isn't a luxury. Chronos works beautifully on any screen size, in any language, with any theme.
Chronos is designed to serve anyone who needs to think about time across borders. Our users come from all walks of life:
Remote workers & freelancers Coordinating meetings with colleagues and clients across multiple time zones is a daily challenge. Chronos makes it effortless to see at a glance what time it is for everyone on the team, whether they're in San Francisco, London, or Singapore.
Travelers & expats Moving to a new country or traveling for work means constantly converting between your home time zone and your current location. Chronos shows you both at once, and lets you add any city to your personal world clock board.
Developers & engineers Working with Unix timestamps, scheduling cron jobs, and debugging time-related issues requires precise tools. Our Unix timestamp converter and timezone converter are built with developers in mind.
Students & educators Whether you're joining an online class from abroad or submitting an assignment with a deadline in a different timezone, Chronos helps you never miss a moment.
We're a small, independent team and we genuinely love hearing from users. Have a feature request? Found a bug? Just want to say hello? We read every message.
